COACHING

Thrive on your impact

I work with purpose-driven professionals who strive towards a more just, equitable and sustainable world to amplify the difference they are passionate about making. We work together to clarify your impact, find alignment and plan for holistic well-being in your professional life.

Whether you already work in the industry where you want to make an impact or are considering moving into another sector I can support you to:

  • (symbol?) Connect with your source of compassion. Together we explore, integrate and cultivate your source of compassion for yourself, others and the world. Balancing these elements and bringing your beliefs to the surface lay the groundwork for sustaining the compassion that drives your ambition and actions.

  • (symbol?) Channel your impact. I help you uncover and gain clarity on your values and how you can work and act in alignment with these. Based on these insights we develop a personal vision and mission statement you can use for anchoring and pursuing your impact journey and we take the first steps towards realising this together.

  • (symbol) Thrive in the process. I guide you in creating your well-being framework to find ease and flow on your impact journey. Cultivating well-being is deeply personal and takes many forms. While clarity can bring a great sense of inner well-being, balancing every-day life and dealing with work challenges requires an extended well-being toolbox. We test, trial and integrate the tools that you need to thrive on your impact long-term.

coaching approach

My coaching services rely on theory and tools from coaching psychology, positive psychology and scientific approaches to compassion to give you a safe, structured, and supportive space to design your impact journey. My approach to coaching is based on the following principles:

  • You are the expert in your life and work: As a coach, it is my responsibility to discover, clarify and align with what you want to achieve and elicit solutions and strategies that are generated by you – because only you know what works best for you.

  • You are creative, resourceful and whole: I encourage self-discovery on the foundation that you already are exactly as you need to be. I strive to partner with you in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximise your personal and professional potential.

  • Your individuality is your strength: Your combination of life experiences, values and character traits is unique and the ultimate gateway to create positive impact in the world. We build on your strengths and celebrate your individuality – because we know this will make us stronger collectively.

Getting started with compassion

I use compassion as a foundation because it allows to both focus on your inner awareness and the external change you hope to cultivate in the world. Easy to theorise on - what does it mean in practise?

these are deeply intertwined: The change you ae passionate about creating is connected to developing and using inner skills to effect outer change.

The change they hope to cultivate in the world is connected to cultivating and using inner skills to effect outer change

Compassion visualisation and compassion calls

  • Is there a "programme" that we follow in our coaching together?
Not really. I am walking you through a process, but it is tailored to you and your current needs. That is what is so beautiful about one-on-one help! I will guide our sessions, but you also get to bring up what is on your mind and going on for you as we move along. This is your space to focus on you and what you need help with.
  • Will there be homework between coaching sessions?
I always recommend tools or exercises between sessions and also send you resources to support your journey while we work together. This is to speed up your transformation and is not a requirement if it feels overwhelming. You will always be in control of the speed at which we progress!
  • What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is a process of partnering with you in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximise your personal and professional potential. While positive feelings or emotions may be a natural outcome of a coaching relationship, the primary focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals in your work or personal life. Therapy on the other hand deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict. The focus is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past that hamper emotional functioning in the present and helps dealing with the present in more emotionally healthy ways. Having worked personally with practitioners from both fields, I am always happy to discuss if coaching is right for you in your life circumstance. If not, I may be able to help you find a psychotherapist or another mental health practitioner. As an accredited coach, I maintain the ethics and standards of behavior established by the International Coach Federation (ICF). You can read the ICF Code of Ethics here.
  • I live in (insert country and time zone). Is that an issue?
Absolutely not. I have worked with clients in many different time zones including in the United States, sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and South-East Asia. We always find a way to make it work. Sessions take place over Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp so the only thing that is required is a stable internet connection.
  • I am experiencing financial hardship. How can we still work together?
With most of my career spent in the non-profit space in low-income countries, it is really important to me that finances do not dictate your commitment to craft an impact on which you thrive. If you feel you cannot afford a full coaching investment at this time, please email me about the possibility for scholarships and other options for us working together.

Partners and collaborators

I partner with like-minded organisations and independent coaches and experts to meet the unique needs of every client. If you are interested in collaborating, please get in touch.
